The Song the Wind Carried

At the edge of the world, there was a forgotten forest. The trees there grew so tall their canopy was invisible, their trunks wrapped in glowing blue vines that sparkled like the Milky Way every night. The villagers said the vines were the heartbeats of ancient spirits left behind. But no one truly believed in spirits—not until a girl named Ella wandered into that forest.

Ella was the quietest girl in the village. Her eyes were rare amber, glowing like两块 melted honey in sunlight. The villagers found her strange because she never played with other children, always sitting alone by the stream, talking to herself. No one knew what she was saying.

But Ella knew. She was listening to the trees. And the trees were telling her secrets—where lost things went, what tomorrow’s weather would be, who in the village would fall ill and who would heal.

One night, the wind carried a new sound from the forest. Not a heartbeat—a melody. The same melody Ella hummed to herself every day.

The trees were finally learning her song.

And once they learned it, they would never let her go.
